Whats the UK law regarding imperial and metric dress sizes?

I need to know whether a Metric size needs to be shown along side an imperial size. In the UK imperial waist, hip and chest size is understood better than the metric conversion but are we obliged by law to display both? Does anybody know? Please help. xx

There is no law.

If you go into one shop a size 10 maybe much smaller/larger than another shops.

Its confusing and different suppliers use different size patterns, so you have to try each size on , to see what size to buy.
Reply:There is no law on the subject. In principal Metric and Imperial sizes are both valid in the UK; The EU only recognizes Metric (as it exists in science and imperial does not). Thus if you wish to sell something in the EU - it has to include metric descriptions of weight and/or size.
