Is Imperial Washington's worst nightmare an alliance between the Left and the Right?

"The Middlebury Institute, based in Cold Spring, N.Y., was started in 2005. Its followers, disillusioned by the Iraq war and federal imperialism, share the idea of states becoming independent republics. They contend their movement is growing."

Oh yes, baby. Nobody wants to pay for your war, Dubyahillarycondilieberman. Time to wake up and smell the oil.

Is Imperial Washington's worst nightmare an alliance between the Left and the Right?
Perhaps this is Washington's worst nightmare, but it is as likely to happen as Sasquatch is likely to show up in downtown Seattle to purchase a hot dog. I have no interest in bipartisanship or in collaborating in any form with rednecks, Repugnants, or other forms of rightwing fascism.

A scenario, much more frightening to our Imperial leaders, but alas even less likely to happen in our faux democracy, would be if our slavemasters in Washington woke up one day to find they were living in a multi-party system. If the U.S. adopted a multiparty system, both the Democrat and Repugnant parties would for all meaningful purposes be extinct within two years of the transition.
Reply:Roll another one, just like the other one.
Reply:yes it is my friend and I cant wait for everyone to wake up and realize its us against them , not us against us.

Reply:Al Gore contends global warming is correctable too, doesnt make him right...
Reply:A small percentage of people in states throughout the country does not a viable movement make. There's a strong movement of Raelians in the USA, but I doubt that Israel will allow an embassey with a giant swatiska on the roof for intergalatic beings to visit, which is one of the goals of Raelians, to be built anytime soon. Just like I doubt seccession will happen anytime soon either.
Reply:where do u get the pionts 2 ask all these ?
Reply:That'll be the day. The right is the whole problem in the first place, and that includes the voters AND Dubyahillarycondilieberman. What we need is an alliance between the left and the far left!
Reply:The have been and will always be people who disagree with government policy. I do not agree with all the policies of Congress, the Executive Branch or the Supreme Court. I do not, however, believe that there is "federal imperialism" or the states becoming independent republics. That war was fought 140 years ago. The American Civil War was fought for states rights, not for pro or anti slavery like many believe. The south lost that war. Now with the same businesses are in different states, people freely move from one state to another, and the rights of all people no matter where they live are guaranteed. There is no way a second civil war could start. The people of the United States have become more diversified than ever before.

The Middlebury Institute in that article says its membership is growing. But does not show what its membership is. The United States is closing in on a population of 300 million. What a couple of hundred say is not my concern.

What I am concerned about it left or right extremists getting control of anything. Extremism is a horrible thing. Hitler proved that the Extreme Right was wrong. Stalin proved that the Extreme Left was wrong. I much more prefer a centralist government that does pay attention to all sides of an issue and acts with fairness for all, not a select few.
Reply:Secession! Whoa.

At least there won't be a civil war. I hope.
