Looking for info on Imperial desk company?

Have an old desk stamped Imperial desk company, Evansville Indiana. Would like to know when they were in business, and about how old the desk might be.

Looking for info on Imperial desk company?
I found a listing in the Grand Rapids Public Library Collections sheet on-line at :

http://www.grpl.org/collections/grhsty_s...

Scroll down the page a little, maybe you could contact the librarian and she would be able to help you out:

Imperial Desk Co. (Evansville, IN)

This is what they state on the top of the page...

Covering the years from 1911-1949, this furniture title index provides access to information on factory production, materials, technology, and labor issues. It also includes articles on furniture design and styles, and biographical information on important leaders in the furniture industry. For fees and copies of articles listed, please contact the library at localhis@grpl.org.

I also found out that it may first have been the Imperial Furniture Company

MPERIAL FURNITURE CO. Founded in 1903, Imperial's large inventory of designs consisted primarily of dining and occasional tables, and associated case pieces such as bookcases and desks. Imperial also laid claim to the invention of the "coffee table" in the 1920s. Imperial was sold to Bergsma Brothers Co. of Grand Rapids in 1954, which operated its plant until 1983.
