Has anyone taken a cruise on the Imperial Majesty cruise line?

They are short cruises-2 nights and leave out of Ft Lauderdale and go to Nassau Bahamas. I won a free cruise with them but dont really know anything about the ship.

I have heard that they charge you to go on the beaches there. So when you pull into port and get off the ship you can pay to go on the beach or go shopping. Is that true?

Please only give me info on this cruise NOT ones you would suggest I take. Thanks!

Has anyone taken a cruise on the Imperial Majesty cruise line?
DO NOT TAKE THIS CRUISE!!! My girlfriend and I took this poor excuse for a 'cruise' in July '07 and it was the worst travel experience of our lives! The food was a disgrace, offering the most disgusting excuse for a breakfast/lunch buffet that I have ever witnessed. A few of the dinner items were OK but for the most part a complete joke.

The entire boat smelt like a sewer, and I don't mean that it smelt bad and I'm just comparing it to a sewer because sewers smell bad too...it seriously smelt like a sewer!!! They charge you for everything and the cabins are dirty and tattered (our bathroom towels were gray because they were so old and our sheets/towels/blankets all had holes in them with faded color because clearly they had been around since the '50's).

Never ever ever go on anything that has something to do with Imperial Majesty Cruise Lines. It is not a cruise, far from it! Just disgusting. My girlfriend got sick because of her allergy to mold, which the entire boat is covered in (but they do paint over the mold so that you can't see it, but you can still smell it. I'd like to think that they would clean it but apparently that is too much for Imperial Majesty to handle). I received a bacterial infection because of the lack of sanitary conditions, I got to spend 4 hours hooked up to an IV with a 103 degree fever in the Ft. Lauderdale Cleveland Clinic E-room What a great vacation (sarcastic)!!!

Hated the entire experience, Imperial Majesty is just a painfully dreadful company. Please do not go, you WILL regret it!
Reply:There are many free beaches in Nassau. There may be someone there renting umbrellas which is how theymake their living. You also don't pay to go shopping.

I think you are referring to the excursions that are offerred by the cruise line which may be private beaches with or without shopping time and yes, those you do pay for.

The Imperial Majesty "freebies" sound like you took the tour of the Ramada Resorts time share program. they have been using this promo for years now. The ship itself is an old ship but actually not that bad. Food is decent and the service is quite good. Cabins are small and nothing fancy about them. It is a nice little 2 night trip. We've done it ourselves for a little getaway from S. FL.

You will pay a fuel surcharge, port and gov't fees, and gratuities so will not be totally free.

You will get a kick out of the elevator which can only hold 5 people and they better be small %26lt;grin%26gt;

But have a good time.
