Medicine is difficult to gain access everywhere. Not only do you have to gain sufficient grades but there is a great emphasis on the interview. If you truely want to study medicine I suggest you spread you choice further and allow more options and hopefully offers just incase you get neither of your first choices!
How hard is it to get into imperial or ucl to study medicine ?
Well i applied to both Imperial and UCL. UCL put more weight on the BMAT and use it quite strictly. Imperial only use this as another factor in deciding who to interview. Imperial seem to like people with A*s. I got in with 7 and my friends with 5 and 8. Getting an interview is probably the hardest part as most universities nowadays tell you what they are looking to see at interviews.
This year, UCL require AAB at a-level, whereas imperial want AAA.
Competition for these universities is tough. Its best for you to look at the websites of each university and see how they select for interviews and what sort of profile they expect of their applicants: if you meet or exceed this, then you should have a reasonable chance of getting in.
