I got a check and letter stating I won a lottery in this lotto.
Anyone ever hear of the Imperial Foundation Lotto?
It's a scam. They are going to rip you off. No lottery simply sends you a check if you have not paid to play.
Reply:This is a scam. I received the same letter and just called the bank that it was written on and they told me that it was and not to cash the check. Who ever cashes this check and uses it will have to pay it all back or go to prison. Report It
Reply:I received 2 different letters with checks today.
Imperial Foundation Lotto stating I won $120,000.00 with a check for $2995.50
Los Progresso Lotto stating I won $55,000.00 with a for check for $2900.00.
I knew it couldn't be true, that it must be a scam. Beware! Report It
Reply:Hello, yes i also just recieved one of these same checks yesterday out of silicon valley bank in pittsburg, PA I bank with a military bank and was wondering what would happen if it was deposited? It is very strange we got these checks. I tried to check into every clue in the letter and search on the internet, I also called the number but it was after hours I will call tomarrow. Please get back with me if anyone knows anything....Thanks
Reply:yes
Reply:yes, I received the same exact letter it all seem too good to be true so I called the FBI they told me that because it's international that they can get away with this, I already deposited the check and it cleared, I asked if I were to take any of this money am I responsible, yes, it takes about 2 weeks for the bank to realize it is no good then you are responsible for the funds, please do not get taken in we all need the money and we are vulnerable, get a copy of the check and bring it to the proper authorities,windjammer1303@yahoo.com

Reply:I also received a letter from the "Imperial Foundation Lotto" for $2998 to cover costs to receive $114, 000. I called the number and spoke with a Charles Anderson, who assured me that this was a legitimate winning. All I had to do was cash the check at my bank, contact them, and they would tell me where to send my cashier's check for the winnings. I ran a check on the companies involved. The check comes from a legitimate company but when I contacted them, found out the check was part of a scam by individuals in Canada using their name on a false check. I ran a reverse number check on the phone number and found it was a private land line, not Alpha Financiers like the letter said. I am very glad I checked this out as I would be in serious trouble for cashing an illegal check from an honest company without their knowledge or approval. The scam artists would have pulled money from my account that I would have to pay back to the legal company of the original check. In otherwords, you will lose $2998 from your own pocket if you cash the check or be prosecuted for fraud by the company on the check. BE CAREFUL and TEAR UP THE CHECK.
Reply:I also got a check and letter stating I won a lottery in the third catagory. The check was for 2994,80. It states that the catagory I won in, is to be split between 18 other winners. Is this for real or just another scam?????? It says I need to get in contact with Monica Brown to authorize and activate my check.
Thank You!
Reply:we also receive a letter like yours we also received a check too. I research the company that wrote the check it is a real company out of florida. but did not find anything on imperial foundation lotto.
I was wondering the same thing, did you call the number on the letter? We have not been able to get in touch with them yet but it is after hours when we call. Let us know what you find out? Please.
Reply:It's a Nigerian scam. They use Microsoft, U.K. International, Australian, MSN, MSN/Yahoo, Global-Link, Global, World Poverty and hundreds of other scam names. I am a retired Police Officer that investigated Internet scams and fraud for years. This one is asking you to either send them a prepayment to ship your winnings or for taxes. I have found that in about 95% of these scams they do not spell words correctly. The common thread in them getting your email and address are On Line survey companies. Send them nothing and do not respond. What I like to do with a large number of them is tell them I'm interested but to send any future emails to my other address and I give them the email of a different scam. Let them scam each other.
Reply:Huge scam...DON'T deposit the check unless you want to owe that amount of money. I got the same thing. An award certificate that stated with lucky numbers 12-23-15-27-33 I won 120,000 and recieved a check for $2995.70. My claim agent, however, was Brenda Foster (the claim agent is the only thing that is different on these letters). Don't fall for this rediculous scam. Rip the check up, give them a call and act like you deposited it and have some fun with the fools.
Reply:I got a check from this Foundation also. Mine is drawn from SkinMedica, Inc. Have you found anything out? Is this check real?
Reply:My mother recieved a letter and a check from that company and i all i got was a number that no one answers, would we be prosecutted if we cashed it? I just wanna know, and is this truly a scam.
