How far is the walk between Imperial Palace and Mandalay Bay?

My friend and I are trying to decide if its too far of a walk from the Imperial Palace to Mandalay Bay. We like walking the strip and all, but we don't want to wear ourselves out before the spice girls concert! Any opinions? I looked on a map and it seems kinda far... I've been to vegas a lot and have walked the strip but I can't remember the distances and stuff we walked. We'd really liked to stay at the Imperial Palace tho cuz its cheapity cheap cheap.

It is quite a walk. Remember the strip is 4 miles long.

If you can't afford to take a bus, consider hopping on the hotels free shuttles that will drop you somewhere closer to your destination.

Reply:Don't walk unless you're in for a real hike, it's just not the distance, it's the up and down going over the strip and back down. Take the tram or if you have a rental car just drive from hotel to hotel. I've done this lots of times, the parking is free!

Reply:You got to walk to places, that's half the fun - just going down the strip. You should walk to the Excalibur and take the free tram to Mandalay, that's what we did. Mandalay Bay is awesome, one of my favorites.
Reply:It is about a 2 mile walk. Not only that, but the Mandalay Bay is on the other side of Las Vegas BLVD than from the IP. So not only will you need to walk 2 miles, but you will will need to walk over the overpasses. Even though there are escalators to take you to the top of the overpasses, the extra 5 mnutes it can take to get up the escalator, across the overpass, and down the escalator makes the walk just a bit worse. And you will have to do that twice.





If you decide to walk, you may want to make it to Excalibur and take the free tram to Mandalay Bay. And don't wear heels, unless you want to sit through the entire concert.





If you are trying to stay cheap, look at staying at the Tropicana. You can certainly make that walk, and if you sign up for their e-newsletter, they will send you excellent deals. I have gotten deals that are comparable to the IP.
Reply:Take the monorail from the Imperial Palace station to the MGM Grand station. Then cross over LV Blvd to the west side, and you can either walk or ride the tram from Excalibur to Mandalay Bay. Here's the map:

Reply:I wouldnt walk but the bus is 2.50 for a 24 hour bus pass! Id do that before Id walk! Its a little over a mile walk but its NOT a straight line lol. You have to go up and over LV Blvd TWICE! MB is almost about four or five block lengths from Trop and IP is about a mile from there.

Do not walk unless you are going to stop at least two other times before Mandalay Bay.

Reply:It's a ways... I'd say about 2 miles... You'd probably be better off taking the bus down there.
