Any suggestions?
What's a good imperial stout that I could most likely find at a supermarket?
Jpie... You seem to forget that Great Lakes Black Out Stout is an Imperial and that if he lives in the Midwest it is readily available at many supermarkets... This time of year. Other than that I really like your answer.
Your best bet is to skip the supermarket and head to a specialty store... Cost is often less (depending on the store mind you) and the select is almost always better. Check out the link below for a list of store in your area:

Yes... I know Jpie already linked to it... I just think it needs repeating since it is a great link.
Reply:A standard supermarket won't (most likely) have any Imperial Stouts. You may get lucky in a gourmet market like Whole Foods, Trader Joe's, regional chains, etc.
One of the most readily available is probably Lion Stout from the Lion Brewery in Sri Lanka. It's available in all 50 states (save the few hold-outs who have restrictions on alc. content).
Your best bet is to head over to http://www.beeradvocate.com/beerfly and do a search for your area - it'll list most of the good beer stores, breweries, etc. that are in a specific region.
FYI - New Glarus is ONLY available in Wisconsin, Sheaf is only in a couple of states West of the Mississippi, Sam Adams doesn't make an Imperial Stout, and Flying Dog doesn't have an Imperial Stout that's readily available. Also Guinness is not Imperial by any means - it's actually quite low gravity at only 4% abv.
Cheers.
(EDIT)
Good call on both answers below, although I was simply thinking of the larger chain supermarkets in SE Michigan where I have the most experience... they don't even carry Blackout Stout. We do have some nicer, higher-end grocery regional chains, though, like Busch's, Hiller's, of course Whole Foods, and family-owned gourmet markets such as Papa Joe's, Holiday Market, etc. - all of which have great selections.
Come to think of it, Meijer is expanding their craft beer selection, particularly in Michigan stores, by upwards of 30 new sku's in some stores; so the ease of finding good beer at chains will swing more in our favor quite soon.
Reply:New Glarus from Wisconsin and Sheaf from Nevada as well as Samuel Adams and there is a micro from Colorado called Flying Dog ,which is an excelent stout as long as you can get other than "3.2% by weight "beer in your grocery ,Guiness is a standard but in a bottle or can it is rather non-descript,this is always better freshly drawn from a Milliger or McAferty fawcet tap
Reply:Old Rasputin is available in the three grocery stores closest to my house. Pretty sure it is nationally distributed, brewed in CA, and I live in OH. Bell's Expedition Stout was in one store the other day, but that is mostly in the midwest, and I don't think there is too much left, it's one of their winter seasonals.
